Working within the grade one listed mill building, reputedly the world’s oldest surviving urban steam-powered cotton spinning factory, sited in the Ancoats area of Manchester, Kestrel Interiors Limited were employed on the bat mitigation works.
Working alongside the Ecologist, new roosting locations for the existing bat population were formed prior to undertaking the works, to entice the bats from the premises, followed by the boarding and sheeting up of all the external window and door openings. Periodic monitoring works was undertaken for six months.
